Overview

The Focusrite Forté Suite is a channel strip RTAS and HD-compatible plug-in for Pro Tools based on the now-legendary Focusrite Forté recording console of the mid-'80s (original price for Forté console: $1.5 million).

Utilizing virtual vintage modules, Forté Suite brings Focusrite’s sonic signature to Pro Tools through sophisticated modelling of the ISA110 EQ and ISA130 dynamics processors (including compressor, de-esser, and noise gate), the key modules from the acclaimed Focusrite Forté analog console. It also includes surround modes as well as graphical representations of EQ, compression, and related module curves. And its interface components closely resemble the ISA series modules treasured by audiophiles the world over.

Guitar FX Suite

Overview

Focusrite's Guitar FX Plug-in Suite includes eleven professional VST/AU plug- ins, ideal for today's guitarist. These include five of the world's finest guitar amp models and four distortion pedal effects, all courtesy of Italian software company 'Overloud'; experts in the field of accurate Guitar Amp modeling. A 'hot tuna' guitar tuner and 'smart' hum remover are also provided.

The amp models include plug-ins based on the Vox AC30, Marshall JCM900, Fender Twin, MESA Boogie Rectifier and the Fender Bassman. The pedal models include plug-ins based on the Boss DS-1, the Ibanez Tube Screamer, the Electro Harmonix Big Muff and the Dunlop Fuzz Face.

Liquid Mix HD

Overview

Focusrite’s Liquid Mix HD offers the power of Liquid Mix exclusively to the Pro Tools HD market. Providing the same pool of classic EQ and Compressor emulations as the Liquid Mix range, Liquid Mix HD brings the sound of priceless and historically significant compressors and EQ’s, straight to the DAW.

Each instance of the Liquid Mix plug-in provides one Compressor and one EQ emulation, selectable from a huge pool of high-quality vintage and modern day classics. Forty Compressors and twenty EQs are available straight out of the box, with some additional emulations available for free online. As with the original Liquid Mix, a hybrid user-defined seven-band ‘super EQ’ is available in every instance, built out of separate classic EQ bands. Liquid Mix HD also offers a ‘free’ mode for all compressors; original compressors with limited or absent controls suddenly become fully featured - yours to use as you choose.

Liquid Mix HD’s DSP has been optimised for use within Pro Tools HD. As a result, over one hundred simultaneous mono instances can be used on a standard HD3 system.

Midnight Plug-in Suite

Focusrite’s new Midnight plug-in suite takes two of the most iconic Focusrite modules of all time – the ISA110 equaliser and ISA130 compressor; models their sound exactly with powerful DSP technology; and gives them elegant, functional on-screen front panels that make them simplicity itself to use. Now you can add that authentic, classic Focusrite sound to your own tracks at a price you can afford. Your productions have never sounded so good.

The ISA110 and 130 modules, created for the legendary Forté console in the 1980s, represent the epitome of Focusrite analogue audio processing, and performed a vital role in the making of literally thousands of hit records – they still change hands for thousands today. Their new digital incarnation in the Midnight suite for AU, VST and RTAS gives them stunning new hi-def on-screen front panels so realistic you’ll believe you can grab a knob with your fingers. In fact, of course, you can tweak them with a click and a drag of the mouse, or graphically edit the response curves. But whichever way you want to go, behind each exquisite graphic front-panel lies powerful DSP code that exactly models the original analogue processors that inspired the Midnight suite, with all the warmth, clarity, control and incredible sound of those original analogue designs.
